About Eli Boodnero

 

Eli was born in Jerusalem in December of 1954. At an early age he gravitated towards painting and drawing with anything he could find. His first art teacher and patron was a kind neighbor that told his mother to bring him over once a week to watch her paint. She was an elderly woman, a holocaust servivor, and he was 11 years old. 2 years later, it was she that gave him his first oil paint set as a gift for his Bar Mitzvah. Afterwards he trained at various workshops and studios throughout Jerusalem, and eventually enrolled in the Betzalel Art Academy in Jerusalem. There he was trained in the classical method. In 1976 he immigrated to the United States, and currently resides with his family in Los Angeles. As a member of the Valley Artists Guild, he participated in several art shows where his work has won many awards. He continues to enjoy painting in his studio, his home away from home.
